May 2014 -- Consolidated Scrap Resources, Inc. (CSR), York, PA, has received distinguished recognition from the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI) for the company’s transportation fleet safety achievements. ISRI is the national trade association for the recycling industry representing more than 1,600 company members.
CSR, is a fourth-generation, family-owned and managed scrap recycling company with locations in York, West Manchester Township, Harrisburg, Gettysburg and Lebanon. It employs approximately 150 people. The company processes and sells scrap metal, paper, and plastic raw materials to domestic and foreign mills, smelters and foundries, which use the scrap raw materials to make new products.
ISRI awarded CSR with the “Best Fleet Award,” for 2013 which is presented to the company with the lowest vehicle accident and DOT severity rates for a calendar year in the nation. CSR also received the ISRI “Pacesetter Award” for the company with lowest accident rate in the nation for the previous three years. Both awards are based on a company’s entire fleet miles driven in a given year. CSR’s fleet logs between 500,000 and 1,000,000 miles per year.
